Holiday time.....

So now I realize how VERY behind I have been in posting. These are Christmas photos that haven't been posted yet.  I think I am so busy chasing around a six year old that I have lost all sense of time! Heck, it's only two months past Christmas. But who is counting?
And Happy Hanukkah too, of course!

And here is Elfie (thank you Nina!) Elizabeth loves him and he spends everyday from Thanksgiving to Christmas at our house...heading home to the North Pole every evening and returning in the a.m. (hiding somewhere in the house until Elizabeth finds him).
Elizabeth has her own unique style of decorating for Christmas

This year Elizabeth did most of the tree trimming. She gets better every year. And she is quite a help now putting all the decorations away at the end of the season.
Elizabeth had a divine time with Becky at the boat parade this year.
It wasn't as cold as it looks here. About 58 degrees-freezing by California standards.

Oh yes, our baby is SIX years old!

NOTE: I am posting this today...I started it weeks ago (see reference to "it has been two months) and haven't had the time to post it. You can read that as "overwhelmed" and hopefully I will make up for the lost time this week! I hope.

So it has been TWO Months since my last post! Oh and what a two months it has been. So much activity-lots more on that next time. This post-almost two weeks overdue-is to celebrate a most extraordinary occasion--Elizabeth's Sixth Birthday! Woo hoo! Can you believe it? Our sweet little lady is now six years old.

I still have lots of news and photos to catch up on-not to mention our "third" first day of kindergarten! Oh yes, that is a whole story in itself!

For now I will have you take a look at Elizabeth's gala 6th Birthday party. And what a party it was. Every year I say, next year will be a simple luncheon...and then before you know it we are planning a big shindig. This year I almost got Elizabeth to agree that "more is less" and at the last minute I think I started getting nostalgic and figured okay, "one more year of a big party". "They" say after first grade most kids don't want big parties anyway. Yeah, we shall see.

We were expecting Wonder Woman and Superman, and Batgirl showed up as a surprise guest. At first I was not sure how Elizabeth was taking to Batgirl (owing to her somewhat ominous looking facemask) but by the end of the party Elizabeth was good buddies with Batgirl. Although I must say, that it was Superman that seemed to steal her heart.

Gingerbread house....and poses

Elizabeth had such a good time at Pelican Hill on Thanksgiving that we had to go back for the Gingerbread decorating event for the second year in a row. They put on quite a shindig and she loved every minute.

Elizabeth may look as if she is happy to pose for the camera but I had quite a time getting her to pose and stand still. Although you may gather from a number of the photos that she was in a rather goofy mood.
