A Girl Can Dream...

I love these photos of Elizabeth outside of Oscar de la Renta. In one of them she really looks as if she is dreaming about wearing Oscar's fashions one day. Clearly she is following in her Grandma Fran's footsteps with her love of fashion.

P.S. If you click on the photos they will enlarge.

Girls Rock

On Sunday we headed over to the park to meet up with Elizabeth's friends. She was happy to see all of her buddies. After the park some of us met up for dinner and you can see Megan, Mei-Mei (Maria) and Elizabeth here, all posing after dinner.

Kaila wasn't able to join us for dinner, but you can see her in the video playing in the sand with Elizabeth. There is also a video here of Elizabeth and Mei Mei practicing their "jumping".

It was a fun day. And, needless to say--the girls are all amazing.

Here is a great photo of Maria.

A few more photos of the ballerina

Just a few more photos of E in her ballet tutu. I must admit that I am glad she is showing an interest in music and dance. And, since I have absolutely no skill or interest in any sports that involve throwing, kicking or hitting a ball--if she wants to get all of her aerobic and extracurricular activity in via dance, well, that suits me just fine.

Ballet Princesses

Well, we may not send this tape to the Joffrey if we want Elizabeth to get a scholarship...but she and all the girls look pretty darn cute. And for a second class I think it shows "she's got potential".

The Princess Class

So, about a week or so ago Elizabeth and I "happened" upon the "Pint Size Princess" class at the community center. The class is intended for 2.5-5 year old girls --and as you can see in the video, at 27 months, Elizabeth is a tad young for it. But age be darned--this little one saw those princesses in action and stormed the place.

She did so well during her impromptu audition that the teacher let her in the class--wearing her jeans and tee shirts and all. Here she is in her second week of class and while she is dressed more like a princess, she didn't quite keep up as well as she did the first week--but heck, she is still a stand-out. I have more videos to post from class and hope to have those up later today.

Then and Now

So here we are in April of 2009. We have been home for a year and a half now. Hard to believe sometimes. And as cliche as it sounds, it is hard to imagine life before Elizabeth. In some ways I still have glimpses of life before the all encompassing reality of little Elizabeth--but the funny thing is that even when I think back on lots of moments in my life before Elizabeth--I still sense her as having been there. It is a hard thing to explain --but it is as if she has always been a part of us. And,I suppose she has.
