Some photos

Here are a couple of photos showing that Elizabeth is indeed growing up.

The last week or so has been more than a little busy with winter illness befalling both Elizabeth and myself.

One thing I did learn last week was that Elizabeth has an amazing ability to motor on regardless of a fever. She had a high fever and NEVER stopped for a minute. At one point her fever reached 104.8 and SHE WAS STILL PLAYING. With a temperature of 102 I think she could compete in the Olympics.

It was a little disconcerting, I must say, to take her temperature and have it read 102 degrees and then see her running up and down the stairs and demanding to go out and ride her bike. The doctor said that there are kids who can just tolerate high fevers. Seems really odd to me. I know how exhausted I feel even with a temperature of 101.

Oh and she has definitely been expanding her vocabulary while teaching us to watch what we say. Yesterday I was cleaning out the refrigerator and had everything out on the counter. Elizabeth look at the pile of stuff and exclaimed, "Oh my God!". Marty quickly commented, "she didn't get that from me." Well, if that is the worst she repeats, we'll be lucky.

Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year!

Last week the girls got together at Emma's house for a terrific Chinese New Year Party

And here they are in their matching Kai Lan outfits. They look totally adorable in these and I am hoping we can get them out in them together. I think they will cause quite a stir. Go Team China!

My Dayrunner is full....

Here is Elizabeth dressed and ready to head out to school in the morning. Yeah, she has a pretty busy schedule. My brother keeps reminding me, "she's only three". Yeah she is only three, but she attends Montessori on MWF and her other school dedicated to speech on Tues/Thurs. And then once or twice a week she has her speech therapy. And that doesn't include any appts. with her audiologist, eye dcctor, optician, etc. etc. etc.

Of course it seems that most parents of three year olds these days wouldn't think it unusual. When we were kids, I think most 3 years olds hung around in their pajamas half the day.

E as Pat Benatar

So here she is with her "treasured" guitar courtesy of Aunt LaLa and Aunt Re...and well, you can she how she has taken to it. Seeing her in this video, my idealized image of her as a sweet young woman, has been overshadowed by images of her in a punk rock band. CBGB's here she comes. (Is that place still open?)
