E and E

Emerson, Elizabeth's buddy from school came over again to play. The girls donned their Princess dress up clothes and had a great time.

Emerson is so darn cute and so verbal. She said to me, "Elizabeth's mommy, you have a very fun daughter" How stinkin' cute is that? She is always talking about how much she loves Elizabeth. You gotta love her.

And check out the video of Emerson singing. Unfortunately you will have to view it sideways since dum dum me, didn't realize that I couldn't turn my new Droid camera sideways and have it record in the right perspective. Oh, we can't all be geniuses, can we?

But hopefully you can catch some of Emerson's very cute lyrics. And I love how Elizabeth is standing next to Emerson and adjusting her own dress sleeves and looking as if she is very used to the whole show. Oh and Emerson was ad libbing the whole time. Of course.

Versace Girl

Here she is in the dress she wore to Kaila's birthday party on Saturday. The girl loves clothes and has very strong opinions on what she likes and doesn't like.

The minute she spied this dress she had to have it. And the shoes, oh the diamond jeweled sandals had her name all over them. I tried to talk her into black patent leather MaryJanes, but once she saw the blingy sandals, she was sold.

It will be interesting to see if her penchant for fancy clothes continue into her adult years. You never know...when she gets to be a teen, I will probably be begging her not to wear old jeans with holes in them.

Some photos

The last two weeks have been crazy with the whole household battling one illness or another. Elizabeth even came down with a double ear infection...which is definitely not something we want her to have to deal with. More on that later.

Things are settling down and I have a lot of photos to post but here are just a few random photos for now.

Elizabeth had a playdate with her friend from school last week. Emerson is a little over four and adores Elizabeth. And the feeling is mutual. Emerson seems to be one of Elizabeth's role models--esp. in the area of fashion--hence the headbands, the nail polish and the sandals. Eye shadow and lipstick are next I suppose. Can we wait till Kindergarten at least?

Here she is modeling the sunglasses she got at Lucy's party last week. Oh, and yes that is a little crown painted on her face. That is another little thing that she has picked up from school. Yeah, on Wednesday afternoons they "paint" designs on the kid's faces. So, of course E wants her face painted at home too. I mean, who wouldn't?

And here she is sleeping with her necklace. Yes, that is her latest habit. If she loves something, she has to have it next to her while she is sleeping. Last night she went to sleep clutching her new headband.

And yes, she is still the little rockstar. Here she is with the guitar Aunt Lala brought for her birthday this year.

Birthday Party

Last Saturday Elizabeth got the chance to attend Lucy's fourth birthday party. Of course she had fun, especially since she had the chance to spend time with all of her good buddies, Megan, Emma, Kaila and Mei Mei.

She loved the sunglasses as you can she. And it is official. She is a girl. This morning she woke up and said in her own special version of English, "I want be big girl--lipstick, sandals, headband, nail polish. In that order. Oh, can't wait till she is fourteen.

Lost Footage

This has been a busy week and I do have lots of new photos to share but things have been a little hectic around here since Monday night and our visit to Urgent care at 8 P.M. where we discovered Elizabeth had a double ear infection--which accounted for her high fever that day.

She is recovering pretty well, and I can tell you this--she has mastered the art of playing her illness for all she can. Not to mention the fact that she now walks around saying, "I'm sick, give me ice pops" or "I'm sick, I want Barney..etc. etc. etc.". I think we are on the verge of creating a monster.

And here are some photos we found on Umpa's camera last week--some of these I have never seen...

Uma's Birthday

If you took a look at these photos early this a.m., sorry they were sans text. I intended this as a "draft only" until I had a chance to write something.

Well as you can see, Elizabeth had a grand time with Uma and Umpa--celebrating Uma's birthday.

Elizabeth was especially pleased with the "Grandma" collage she gave Uma for her birthday.

Here is a photo I slipped in from last year--here you get a nice photo of Umpa too.

Dancing Queen

Yesterday was Uma's birthday (more photos on that to come) and after a lovely lunch at the R&D Kitchen, Elizabeth decided she just had to show off her dancing skills against the background of the live music.

Now, the video is lousy, as is the music (if you can hear any)since I took it from my phone camera (prompting me to get a Droid now). The good news is that you can't really sense how "off" rhythm Elizabeth was. But it was amusing to watch. Although, who knows--maybe she has some highly developed sense of dance and rhythm that goes way beyond my mortal ears.
