Elizabeth is playing with a couple of her buddies at school on the playground. The first two pictures show her with her friend, Yumin, with whom she was best buddies until Yumin and family moved back to Korea last month. Elizabeth was not to happy about Yumin's move since they were pretty inseparable at school. She did seem to rebound rather quickly. The day after Yumin left, she grabbed her buddy Ken (last photo) and said, "Yumin had to go Korea so now I play with you "everytime". And she ran off smiling. Hope that sort of resilience continues. When you think about it, I think the ability to adapt well to change is likely a more valuable life skill than, say, algebra. I bet you can guess how I did in algebra.

Tea Cup Lunch

Elizabeth has long been in training to be one of the "ladies who lunch".

Here she is at Nieman's --having what she describes as her "tea cup lunch". Pity the person who tries to talk her out of this lunch. When she gets it in her mind that she wants her tea cup lunch--she will not be diverted.
Heck, she even has "her table" at Niemans. The host shes her coming and sets up her little table. The last time we went she decided she was going to pay the tab with her crayon artwork. She handed it to the waiter and said, "I pay for lunch--this is my money." She hasn't quite grasped the concept of "starving artist".

Some photos

Here are some photos that I found as I attempt to "organize" my photo stash. As you may imagine I have more than I can probably handle. It is one of those tasks (of which I have about 2 dozen) that requires a lot of time and attention--neither of which I have in any great supply these days.

The first is a photo of Elizabeth at some point this winter wearing her "bubble" coat--straight from Walmart--but that doesn't stop her from posing next to a high fashion mannequin at Neiman Marcus. Hey, when you are 4 years old and cute as a button --everything looks good.

Some more photos from Erica's visit in January--it seems so long ago now. And somehow Erica manages to look the same as she did ten years ago. As you can see Elizabeth enjoyed their time together.

And here is a photo of her friend Emmy from school. Elizabeth loves playing with Emmy who is a year older than she is. Emmy is one of those amazing little girls who is 5 going on 35. Too bad she is now in kindergarten so Elizabeth doesn't get to see her everyday.

3 Girls Take Nordstroms

So a couple of weekends ago, after their Chinese Dancing class, Emma, Kaila and Elizabeth headed over to Nordstroms to do some serious shoe shopping.
They each left with at least one new pair of shoes. I imagine that at least one of the shoe sales people decided to change careers after that event--or shall I say, "after the tornado passed.

.

The girls also decided that would do some serious pruning to the landscape over at the Irvine Spectrum. Just think Mr. Bren--we saved you some big bucks on gardening this month.

Curly Haired Girl

A couple of weeks ago Elizabeth spied some "curlers" at the drugstore and decided she must have them. I somehow managed to do figure out how to somehow use them and and here you have the lovely result.

She thought the look was "just divine" and how can you argue with her?

Chinese "Dancing with the Stars"

A couple of weekends ago, Elizabeth got together with her girlfriends from China and did some Chinese dancing over at the Chinese Cultural Center. They did it last year and it was so much fun for the girls. Elizabeth and her friends loved it.

More princesses....and more waiting

Just a few more photos I took of Elizabeth with her Princess crew...the last photo shows her with one of the buddies she meant while waiting on line. You can make some fast friends on line--heck knows you spend enough time together--not to mention sharing a similar interest (or shall I say, "obsession"?)

Hangin' with the Princesses

Yep, a couple of weeks ago--we did head over the the Big D, aka, Disneyland. Well I can tell you this Elizabeth is pretty much uninterested in about 97% of Disneyland with the exception of the Tea Cup ride and the Princesses. Yep< we had to wait on line for 45 minutes at a time to get some face time with the lovely ladies of Disney. Was it worth it? Ask Elizabeth. I think she would have waited a couple of weeks on that line and considered it a good use of time.

These are the photos taken by the pros at the park.

Erica and Elizabeth....

Yes, my dear friend Erica came to visit up a couple of weeks ago (yep we have known one another FOURTY years now!--can you believe that one!). We were only about six years older than Elizabeth when we met. How is that possible?

Elizabeth had a great time with Erica as you can imagine and see here in the pictures. She even danced with her--although the photo is not so great but you can get the idea.
