Maria (Mei Mei) is Four!

Yesterday Elizabeth went to her first Hula Dance party to celebrate Mei Mei's Fourth birthday! Woo hoo! Who would believe it.

Elizabeth met Maria at her first FCC party in December of 2007! Elizabeth was only home for 2 weeks when Marty and I were brave enough to leave the house and go to a party. I remember still be somewhat in a daze from our whole trip home from China and suddenly becoming a mom at 47.

I remember Mei Mei who was just a baby then too, and her Patty at the table next to us. In some ways it seems so long ago and in other ways it seems like yesterday.

How great to see them turning into little girls...and having so much fun together--as you can see from the photos.

The Hula party was a blast and Elizabeth came home and Hula danced up the stairs to bed last night.

A few more photos...from a couple of weeks ago

I haven't posted these photos which I should have done a couple of weeks ago..here they are...

A couple of photos of Elizabeth with Holly and her two beautiful kids. Yeah, her kids--they are now 16 and 17. I remember the days that each of them were born. Hard to believe 17 years have passed.

Here she is with Kaila, hanging out at the Nordstrom's shoe section. Nordstrom's can bank on their profits going up when these girls get their own credit cards.

This is Elizabeth's now famous, "pink car seat", alternately referred to as her "big girl car seat". She hounded us for months for one of these and the day it arrived she was gloriously happy. In fact, I don't think I had ever seen her happier. Go figure.

Here she is with one of her older girlfriends who was also born in China, Leah is 6 years old and managed to teach Elizabeth a little of her ballet steps when we ran into them one night at dinner.

Making a grand exit in the fabulous tutu Holly bought her...

You think she likes dressing up?

E and her latest boyfriend

Last week Elizabeth's latest boyfriend from school, Ethan, invited her to a "members only" event at Pretend City.

As you can see they had lots of fun and particularly liked driving the BMW. Although E has been known to prefer a Ferrari.

We figure Ethan is headed to Medical school since both of his parents are doctors. So, needless to say, we are encouraging the relationship.

Manolo Blahniks?

If the headline of this blog doesn't mean anything to you, you may not appreciate the photo as much. But suffice it to say, Elizabeth loves her high heeled shoes--so much so that she had to take them to bed with her to make certain that Bodhi didn't touch them. You know how cats just LOVE to wear high heels.

Yeah, she really wants to wear them all the time. I had put them in my closet and had plans to throw them out since she falls all over the place when she wears them. Of course she tracked them down and now refuses to let go of them.

She is such a girl. She told me she wants 20 pairs of shoes. Actually I think she has about that many. Mommy has 3 pairs...she has 20. What is wrong with this picture?

Merry Go Round...and Round

Yes, so now that Elizabeth has discovered the Merry Go Round, she does want to ride it...A LOT. And yes, we indulged her the last time she rode it and let her go on it 6, yes, 6, times in a row. Hey, she had to make up for lost time. Yeah, 10 bucks for 6 rides. When she asks us about her college fund in 15 years, we'll have to let her know we spent it on the Merry Go Round.

After almost 3 years...

Who would have guessed it. After 3 years of being petrified of the Merry Go Round, as were walking through the Irvine Spectrum mall, Elizabeth spied the Merry Go Round. I figured we would have to walk the usual way around it to avoid Elizabeth having to even "look" at it--since she was always so afraid of it we couldn't even walk next to it--suddenly she announced, "I wanna go on it." I did a few double takes and probably asked her four times to be sure, "You want to go ON the Merry Go Round?" Yep, she wanted to go on it.

So she did. About half a dozen times. And as you can see here she decided that she also wanted to ride with Michelle, Emma's mom. She loves Michelle, especially since Michelle carries her around the mall whenever Elizabeth asks. I figure that the degree of Elizabeth's adoration is someone linked to the amount of time you spend carrying her around.

I have a lot of video of this day, but my new "not so "Incredible" Droid Incredible has a problem linking video to the internet. Stay tuned.
