What a Long Strange Week This Has Been

Okay so it has been about a week since I last posted anything. And it has been about 8 days since Marty and I have slept more than 4 hours any night...heck one night I think I got 3 hours sleep.

And why is that?

Well, it seems that Elizabeth has decided that she does not want to sleep by herself and in fact she really doesn't want to sleep at all. She has also decided that she is too old for her crib and jumped out of it at about midnight last Wednesday night.

That was the first night of our walk through "toddler hell".

What happened? Who knows, your guess is as good as ours. Believe me, I have gone through all possible theories and scenarios to account for her sudden and drastic change in sleeping patterns. Whether it was the fact that she realized that she could get out of her crib or whether she was fed up with being in there and decided to break out--we can't be sure. One thing we know is that this girl is "out" and she is burning the midnight oil--and everyone living under the same roof as she is destined to maybe never sleep again.

I have a lot more to say but am working on another night of very little sleep, if any. The video below was taken last Sunday when we had planned to take Umpa out to lunch for Father's Day. Unfortunately we were all so exhausted from almost zero sleep that no one went anywhere. That is pretty much how the whole week has gone.

Our pediatrician recommended just gating her in her room and letting her cry it out. We tried that but the poor girl was up ALL night. On Tuesday we are taking her to a specialist in this area. More details to follow.
